Project Description

Students submitted various creative expressions about women who inspire them for Women's History Month.

Word from the Changemaker

"I drew a Black woman with no face and an Afro. The reason I did the no face is to symbolize all Black women. All Black women have different faces and just adding a generic one didn’t feel right. I chose an Afro to symbolize our natural hair texture. The green that she is wearing is a reference to Princess Tiana, the first Black Disney princess, a lot of girls including myself looked up to her growing up. Thank you for allowing me to send this in."
